The vineyard of Château Garraud, located on  a variety of rich terroirs :  gravel, clay-gravel, deep clay with “crasse de fer” and clay-sand, in the prolongation of the height Pomerol plateau.

With an average age of 25 years, the vineyard consist of  Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon and  Cabernet Franc.

The yields are limited by Double Guyot pruning with bud removal. 

The grapes are harvested by hand at full maturity and gone over on a vibrating sorting table.

The vinification is done in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats.

The maturing is conducted in the traditional manner for about 18 months, taking into account the specificity of each vintage. with an average of more than 80% in oak barrels.

Only the best of them are selected for the final assemblage of Garraud.

The bottling is made on the Château.

Garraud possesses great elegance and a glanced red colour that evolve into a deep orange-red.

 

The soft, lush palate is fleshy with plenty of body and a long  finish.

It releases a bouquet of very varied aromas, especially red fruits.

It can be aged for more than 10 years
