l'Ancien |
l'Ancien is a typical wine from the Pomerol region. It offers all the characteristics of a Merlot based "Great Wine" which best expresses his power due to the specificity of his clay terroir. With traditional cultural methods we aim the most homogenous yield with Double Guyot pruning and bud removal. The crop being thinned when necessary. An integrated pest management strategy against the enemies of the vine, a manual leaf removal on each face of the row and harvesting by hand at full maturity enable us to obtain grapes of the highest quality. |

After a long maceration, l’Ancien is matured in new oak barrels fore more than 18 months in an underground, air-conditioned cellar. At each step of the culture, the vinification et the maturing, the best is selected. l’Ancien is distinguished by a great structure and intense deep red colour, with violin shades. It possesses a fine, woody nose, which is elegant, smooth and harmonious. The firm palate is full with a superb long finish. It can be enjoyed for many years. |
